RELIQUIAE MARIUM

Who can still recall the films made by the under-water divers Hans Hass and Jacques Cousteau in the middle of the last century which revealed for us the world's largest living space, with all its fantastic and brilliantly hued beings such as corals, fish, mussels, snails and plants? At that very time, we spent our summer holidays on the beaches in northern Germany in search of whatever the tides had washed onto the shore and we dreamt of mysterious depths. Nowadays, it is the refuse of civilisation that is found on the ocean shores. Only the turquoise water with its white beaches made up of coral and shell limestone millions of years old remind us of the origins. We have called our project: RELIQUIAE MARIUM

RELIQUIAE MARIUM

Wer erinnert noch die Filme der Taucher Hans Hass und Jacques Cousteau in der Mitte des vergangenen Jahrhunderts, die für uns den größten Lebensraum der Welt eröffneten, mit all seinen fantastischen und farbenprächtigen Wesen wie Korallen, Fischen, Muscheln, Schnecken und Gewächsen? Damals suchten wir in den Sommerferien an unseren norddeutschen Stränden von Gezeiten Angespültes und träumten von geheimnisvollen Tiefen. Heute findet man an den Ufern der Ozeane Zivilisationsmüll. Nur das türkise Wasser mit seinen weißen Stränden aus Millionen Jahre altem Korallen- und Muschelkalk erinnert uns an den Ursprung. Unser Projekt nennen wir: RELIQUIAE MARIUM
